The sixth item in the Mormon Articles of Faith reads, “We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.” The LDS Church ordains and installs many of the positions found in the Old and New Testament of the Bible. They also acknowledge and occupy the Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthoods. However, Scripture must be inspected and evidence weighed to see if these responsibilities and Priesthoods are authorized today as they were in the past. If so, it is critical to examine the qualifications to be sure they are in accordance with what has been sanctioned by God. A careful investigation of their church organization will determine such.
